The Goal of the Residential Services Department is to provide a safe and healthy place to live, to provide a learning environment, to integrate individuals into their community, to offer varied recreational opportunities, and to provide the supports required for individuals to achieve their goals and realize their dreams.
We endeavor to provide state of the art equipment, programs and systems to our clients functionality in ensuring their assisted daily living are as pleasurable as can be.
All our clients are engaged in various forms of physical therapy and activities to ensure the continued use of all their sensibilities.
All clients within our community are routinely involved in integrated activities approved for cognitive rehabilitation of individuals in our Community Care Program from the Division of developmental Disabilities.
We do provide at the instance of medical professional or family PERS also known as Medical Emergency Response Systems, which enable a call for help should there be an emergency by a push button.
We provide hands-on individualized assistance with daily living activities in order for an individual to live independently in the community, or a private home. The services are intended to support adults who already have a documented plan to transition to independent or shared housing.
This service is a temporary institutional care of a sick, elderly or disabled person providing relief for their usual caregiver. It is primarily designed to give live-in care givers a break and as such can be intermittent or regularly scheduled temporary, non-medical care and/or supervision that is provided in the home.
We provide one to one in meaningful daily activities by focusing on client education and functional skill training using evidence-based interventions to help our clients participate in their daily activities.

Employment options ranges from closely supervised, assembly tasks to job placements in the community such as restaurants, retail stores and corporations
A Behavior Specialist may intervene to assist the individual in achieving self-regulation and appropriate behaviour by implementing Behavioral Guidelines or an Individual Behavior Support Program. This is done after recommendation of the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT), developing tracking sheets, analyzing the data and developing a plan or guidelines to best support the needs of the individual.
Morningside Health Community inclusions program is an excellent opportunity for individuals with disabilities seeking new opportunities to establish a routine, explore interests, and build connections with peers. This program helps individuals with disability interact with members of the community. Our Recreational Services provides a wide variety of leisure and learning activities designed to help participants enhance social skills and build lifelong friendships. We hope you will take part in many of the fun and educational activities we have to offer!
We have Day and Evening sessions and Weekend session: Participants can enroll in any of the three sessions
The activities incudes but are not limited to the following:
1. Game night and karaoke party: Our participants participate in games like bingo, dominos, monopoly and more. We also have a karaoke party where everyone gets to sing to their hearts content. This section is all pure fun.
2. Bowling and Arcade fun: We provide super fun times for all our participants with all the bowling, pizza, and video games they could ask for. We create a healthy competition and teach friendship and good communication skills.
3. Visit to the Aquarium: We travel to the aquarium and teach our participants about Ocean life. We pack the day with fun filled activities.
4. Visit to the museum: We travel to the museum where participants can stimulate positive emotions, promotes feelings of engagement resulting in an improved quality of life. We educate our participants on history and increase their sense of wellbeing, help them feel proud of where we come from, inspire, challenge, and stimulate ourparticipants.
5. Painting and Pottery: Our painting and pottery session provides an opportunity for creative expression, of particular importance for people who have difficulty expressing themselves verbally or understanding emotions. Please note that this is not therapy but designed to help improve communication skills and give opportunities for
6. Dance Class: Adaptive dance classes give children and adults with special needs a dance class of their own; movement is adapted so that everyone can participate and be successful. Classes encourage physical movement which promotes kinesthetic intelligence and builds gross and fine motor skills, promotes positive social interactions, self-confidence, and focus.
7. Volunteer opportunities: Our volunteer program is designed to Promote a sense of belongingness, improve work skills, give purpose and sense of contribution to our participants. Also we help them Adapt and develop new skills and increase their social networks.

Our program is creating an avenue for people with disability to have access to the full spectrum of social, educational, and professional opportunities.
